20-year-old Brayford signed a three year deal with the Railwaymen after a fee of around £120k based on apperances was agreed with the Blue Square Championship club.

Hartshill born Brayford had been at Burton since 2005 after his release from Stoke City and had spent time at Manchester City in the youth setup.

A few clubs had been linked in the past with the defender yet again Crewe look to have unearthed another diamond.

Brayford is seen by boss Steve Holland as a replacement to Danny Woodards who has rejected a new contract at the Alex.
