Well it been a long time coming but Steve Holland has finally got his man with the signing of Anthony Elding.
26-year-old Elding signed a three-year-deal with the Railwaymen after the clubs agreed a fee in the region of £150k and the player managed to sort out a severance pay from Leeds United.
The former Stockport County player had been a long term target for Steve Holland and the Railwaymen missed out in January when Elding signed for Leeds United from Stockport County.
Elding went onto make nine appearances for the United netting once but they failed to gain promotion out of League One via the play-offs.
Only last month Crewe and Leeds agreed a fee for the former Boston United striker only for the move to break down over money and the player to deciding to fight for his place at Elland Road and force his way into Gary McAllister's plans.
That opportunity failed as Elding was left out of the tour to Ireland and it became apparent that Elding's future lied elsewhere.
Elding's record speaks for it's self where he has been scoring goals for fun at Boston, Stevenage Borough and Stockport County.
Elding will wear the number 24 shirt for the forthcoming season and looks set to play a part in this Saturdays pre-season friendly against Hull City.
