Former Boston United striker Anthony Elding has committed himself to Stockport County despite Crewe being linked with a move for him.
The Railwaymen are hoping to splash the cash on a striker as the look to add some extra firepower after the sale of Luke Varney and the untimley injury to Nicky Maynard.
Crewe have been linked with a few stikers over the last few weeks these including Danny Crow (Peterborough), Andy Bishop (Bury) and Elding's teamate Liam Dickerson.
25-year-old Elding has told County boss Jim Gannon he has no plans to leave Edgeley Park and wants to make County push for promotion.
Elding told the Manchester Evening News "I'm a County player, I've got two years left on my contract and I'm really happy here," he said. "When you're a striker, you're always going to get speculation.
"The rumours don't help, but I'm a professional footballer. These things happen in the game. I just get on with my job. If something came around and it was right for the club, then maybe they would do something."
