About the Ground
The ground is a 23,000 all seater stadium. The odd thing about the stadium is the half built Lorne Street Stand. When finished it will have 48 executive boxes and hold 5,000 supporters? The pitch is known for being the widest in the league at 77 yards.
Also a strange fact about the ground taken from the Internet Football Guide is 'the roof of the Caudwell Stand was originally that of the Main Stand at Chester City's old Sealand Road ground'. Stephen Wood adds; 'The roof of the away end was indeed bought by Bill Bell back in 1991-92 for £300,000 as Chester were moving grounds. It was installed during the 1992-93 season and the first team we played when the roof was fully constructed was, you guessed it, Chester!'
Where to Drink
Best place for a pre-match drink is The Vine, which is near to the ground on Hamill Road. It is a small pub and is usually known for away supporters. Failing that if you feel brave you could walk into Burslem town centre and for those who love real ale you could try the Bull Head in St Johns Square. The pub is the local outlet for the Titanic Brewery.
Travel
By train
The nearest station to the ground is Longport and is a 30min walk. Other alternative is Stoke-on-Trent station but this is 4 miles away although you can catch the number 29 bus that takes you Burslem.
By coach
The official coach leaves at 5:30pm and costs £5.
By Car
Distance from Crewe to Burslem is 13 miles.
Go down the A500 until the A527 Tunstall/Burslem exit, where you take the A527 towards Tunstall/Burslem. At the next island just past the Price Kensington factory turn right for Burslem town centre. Continue on this road up the hill, crossing another island and into Burslem town centre. Continue straight on over the traffic lights at the crossroads and then take the first road on the left, which takes you down to the ground. There is a large car park located outside a superstore next to the ground which costs £4, otherwise street parking.
For the Away fan
The away supporters are housed in Phones4U stand which houses 4,500 supporters. Food and drink facilities can be found on the concourse behind the stand. Usual football ground food is supplied and the pies are the local Wrights pies.
