23-year-old Pope has been offered a twelve month extension to the contract he has that expires next summer.

Pope who joined the Railwaymen for a nominal fee from Biddulph Victoria back in 2006 has come on leaps and bounds and is one of Crewe's top scorers this season but in recent weeks has been left frustrated with a place on the bench.

Pope told BBC Radio Stoke "I'm delighted to be offered a new contract but there are a few things I want to discuss.

"Hopefully something will be sorted by the end of the week."

Pope added "I'd like to stay with Crewe," said Pope. "I'm learning and improving all the time, they've bought me on this far and I don't see why I can't go further."
