Palmer Still Throwing A Wobbler

Tonkin handed in his transfer request over the weekend after Palmer rejected a £125k bid from Crewe. Palmer blames the agent for engineering a move to Crewe and he just won't have it... awww...

"I'm very disappointed with him. I got him out of non-league and he was given his opportunity but he's only played a handful of games.

"If Crewe had come in for him and it was a genuine approach and the lad could better himself it wouldn't have been a problem for me.

"But what I won't have an agent engineering a move which is the case here and then think the player doesn't have to play to his proper potential and he'll get a move."

"It won't happen here when the likes of Wayne Collins, who I told on Friday that I hadn't got the money to offer him a contract, is prepared to stay on expenses only.

"If Tonks wants to go that's fine. There's nothing personal between me and the boy but I won't have him around us if he's not committed to the cause.

"I'm not going to have anyone ruining what I'm trying to do here."

It is still unclear if Crewe are to bid for Tonkin again.
