Young Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor has signed a two-year deal with the Anfield outfit, so Dario Gradi’s hopes of catching the highly rated youngster have been put to bed.
‘Semmy’, who has made only a handful of appearances for the reds, was on Dario Gradi’s wish list along with fellow Liverpool youngster John Welsh, who are at the backbone of the Merseysider’s reserve side. The 19 year old spent a month's loan at Hull at the end of last season, but has been heavily linked with a move to South Cheshire since the turn of May, but loaning is still a possibility for the Alex (albeit a very unlikely one).
We still have a chance to see him play when the Alex take on Liverpool in July for Shaun Smith's/Steve Macauley's testimonial. Dario still has high hopes of snaring either Welsh or Neil Mellor, especially if Dean Ashton or Rob Hulse leave in the close season.
