Crewe Mad understand that Michael O'Connor has signed a contract extension which will tie him to the Alex til 2009. This contract extension follows on the heels of Luke Varney extending his contract also to 2009.
Belfast born O'Connor has come on leaps and bounds and anyone who had seen him play at youth level knew he would make the grade.
The tough tackling midfielder signed a contract a three-year contract back in 2005 after impressive performance in the Under 18's.
18-year-old O'Connor made his first team debut in February of this year when he came on in the 89th minute in Crewe's 2-1 win over Brighton.
O'Connor has played every game this season and has scored once and seems to have replaced Kenny Lunt who left for Sheffield Wednesday during the summer.
