O'Connor was told last week he was allowed to go out on loan after an alledged incident with Marlon Broomes on the bus that travelled to Brighton which prompted Thordarson to send the Irish midfilder back home.
O'Connor has made 30 appearances this season at the Alex but due to discipline issues has been frozen out of the first team.
Crewe MAD understands that a loan move to Derby County was virtually sorted with the MAD understand that Derby would of had first option on signing O'Connor for a fee.
