“With their professionalism, commitment and attitude in the last few weeks, they have turned things around at this football club.

“So that is the sole reason I wanted to win it. It would have given me great pleasure to accept it on behalf of them.

“And although I don’t worry about the award as a whole, there is no doubt in my mind that we should have won it this month.

“Of course it would have been great but I’d rather have six points from the next two matches.”
