Nigel Worthington reavealed last week that Hulse is one of his targets but the £1million suggested fee is the off putting thing. Today he stepped up the bid to take Hulse to join former Alex winger Mark Rivers, who joined Norwich in 2000 for £500k. Worthington may only go as far as £600k but wants to hear from John Bowler, the Alex chairman, first.
"We're aware of the Hulse situation. I like the player but some of the reports about the Cardiff deal suggested a figure approaching £1m and that is too high for this football club." Worthington explained.
"We've put in a call to their chairman(John Bowler) but he's on holiday at the moment so we'll wait and see how things develop."
