Injury has played its part for tonight's game with Michael Higdon, Lee Bell, Michael O'Connor and new signing Darren Kempson all out with foot/ankle injuries. Rodney Jack and Lee Matthews who are both at the club training will not feature in tonight's game; Jack who has played little football in the last year is still building up fitness and former Port Vale striker Matthews is still working on his fitness and has yet to train with the first team.

"Rodney is only here training with us at the moment," said Crewe assistant boss Neil Baker.
"We need to see how he goes and what his fitness is like. Then we'll see how he goes from there. But Lee (Matthews) is some way off.
