Chasetown central defender Chris Slater has signe for League One rivals Port Vale.
Former Wolverhampton defender Slater had impressed many scouts this season with the Scholars and came to prominence with his displays in the FA Cup.
Slater has signed for a nominal fee with a 30% sell on clause added to his contract. Only the other day the club said they would not stand in the way of the player who had his heart of getting back inton the Football League.
As a result Slater has quit his job as a block paver and has signed an 18-month contract at Vale Park with a reported wage of £600pw.
