No need for Mellor

Dario has been chasing Neil Mellor for the past three months but multiple times a deal to bring him in on loan has been scuppered. Houllier's sacking, Benitez's appointment and a two month injury did put the deal on hold but since then the current strikers of Ashton, Jones and Rivers have hit Crewe to the top of the goalscoring charts with 15 goals in in just five games.
Interest in Mellor, who made his come back from injury for Liverpool Reserves this week, remains for now but no deal is imminent.
Dario told CreweAlex.net - "We don't even know if Neil is available because we haven't spoken to Liverpool but we don't need him at the moment, but he is still a player we admire."
