Crewe have decided against signing Polish defenders Marcin Kus and Antoni Lukasiewicz. Lukasiewicz, a centre-back, didn't live up to expectations whilst on trial and consequently the Polish U21 captain will return to his club Polonia Warsaw. Polish full back Kus, however, had impressed whilst on trial and the club subsuquently spoke to his club Lech Poznan about a move. It had been expected that Kus would cost around £80k though it is believed that his club were asking for nearer £200k. Dario has since said, "[Kus] has potential but he wouldn't command a place in the team straight away. The figures involve do not represent value for money in my view, because it would be an expensive luxury."
