Pearson told BBC Radio Leicestershire "When you take into account the fact that we played pretty well on Saturday away from home, tonight was disappointing. We made hard work of it.
"Our decision making on the pitch was uncharacteristic, and in that sense it adds up to quite a frustrating evening.
"But at the end of it we got three points, and that is the most important thing. It's about playing winning football. I would like us to play attractive football, but unfortunately that hasn't happened tonight.
"We are sitting on top of the league and I am upbeat about it. But I think, if we are all honest about it, then there is certainly room for improvement."
