Baker, the assistant manager, revealed that Steve Jones has signed for another 3 years at the Alex. Jones' contract was set to expire next summer but Jones was delighted to seal his Alex career till atleast summer 2006. It's news that will delight every Alex fan after an amazing season which saw him take 13 goals and be a major part in the Alex winning promotion. For £150k from Leigh RMI, he's an absolute bargain.

Today saw Rodney Jack leave the club after 6 years but he left on bad terms. The club had offered a 2 year deal, and not a 1 year deal as first thought, but since the last game of the season Rodders hasn't returned to discuss any contract - he was told the club no longer wanted to extend his contract today, he'll officially leave in June.

Neil Sorvel has till tomorrow(Wednesday) to sign his contract offer or he will not be at the Alex come next season. Meanwhile George Bankole is being offered to clubs by the Alex. Baker said Leeds reserve keeper Danny Milosevic is top of the list to replace Bankole but it is unknown if new Leeds manager, Peter Reid, is willing to let him go.

It was also revealed the club are talking to another club about a left-back. It's unknown who the club or player is as of yet but should the management fail to capture the player then Dario will try and get Paul Tierney onloan for a season - unless Man Utd want to let go.

A home friendly with Liverpool is still being discussed but the possible dates are 18th or 19th July.
