Murphy staying with Reds

In yesterday's News of the World there was a story which claimed that Danny Murphy was to consider his future at boyhood heroes Liverpool, but today the former Crewe attacker dismissed it as 'pure fabricaton.'

The Reds' player of the season today said: "I returned from holiday yesterday and was extremely surprised to see a story claiming to be an exclusive suggesting a contractual dispute and doubts over my future at Liverpool.

"This story is not only inaccurate, it is complete fabrication. I signed a four year contract this time last summer and I have never been happier."

Murphy has brought Crewe to international prominence over the past 12 months in appearing regularly in Sven Goran Eriksson's England teams and being a star performer in Liverpool's two Champions League campaigns.
