Crewe hastly arranged a friendly with cash strapped Oldham Athletic in a bid to get Adie Moses back to full fitness. After 10 weeks on the sidelines Moses was finally back in action. He was seen off for 10 weeks when he badly strained his hamstring as he went in for a tackle in the 1-0 defeat at Burnley in August.
Today Moses came through 90 minutes successfully as the reserves bounced back from the Witton Albion loss to thrash a very young Oldham reserve team. Luke Varney was the star of the show with two goals, whilst Richard Walker, Michael Higdon and Paul Edwards added with a goal each. Matt Barlow was Oldham's only comeback as Crewe romped to a 5-1 win.
The result pleases Dario after last week he blasted the reserve players for letting a 3-1 lead slip against Witton Albion in the Cheshire Senior Cup.
