On CreweAlexWorld Stadium manager Cliff Simpson explained the plans for Saturday. First off was Pubs, They will be open before the game but will shut at 3pm. Cliff explained that police will find it easier if they know where the majority of the fans are.
Secondly. Gresty Road will be blocked off half way down, before you get near the stadium. There will be stewards there to patrol who gets past the barriers and only those that have tickets will be allowed through. If you are picking up tickets there will be a system where the stewards will radio back to the ticket office.
Thirdly. The Gresty Road End fans will not be leaving by theiir normal route. Exit Three will be the exit all fans leave through. Thats the exit to the left of the GRE.
The operation will be the biggest of its kind since Cardiff City in the FA Cup a few years ago, that means it will be bigger than the Man City and Everton games.
Staurday the stewards and police will be testing 'operations' for use on which will be probably the biggest police and steward operation in Crewes history with the visit of Cardiff City on the last day of the season.
