More Signings To Come

Dario Gradi has today stated that there may be more signings to come after the signings of Mat Bailey, Juan Ugarte and Eddie Johnson. Dario is currently in Portugal but has been in regular contact with Academy Director Steve Holland and Assistant Academy Director Terry McPhillips in the club's attempts to add players to the squad.

The club's policy of giving their own players a chance will continue, but boss Gradi has stated that he will bring in replacements for any areas in which he feels it is required. Dario has already added three strikers to the club and with Luke Rodgers a possible signing, that number could be increased to four. Dario has recently stated that further attacking options may be added to the squad making the signing of Luke Rodgers appear more likely. However, other areas of the team are now of greater concern. With Clayton Ince's departure, many fans had hoped that a goalkeeper would be signed but it now appears that Ben Williams is to be given his chance to impress. Defence is another area which many fans consider to be weak and Gradi has insisted he will not be forced into 'panic-buys': "We have other irons in the fire and we have replacements already in place if needs be. We mustn't panic too much. Our objective remains to wait until that right player comes along."
