24-year-old Rodgers can leave the club for a fee of £30k and it seems that the player has a big list of admirers and will have a big decision on his hands.
Rodgers has already turned down three League Two clubs, they being Accrington Stanley, Hereford United and Swindow Town as the player holds out for a League One club. It now seem the player may have his wish with the latest two enterering the race to sign him.
Saying that Rodgers trained as normal with the Railwaymen this morning and could feature in tomorrows crunch game against Bournemouth. Crewe boss Dario Gradi told the official website We have given Port Vale permission to speak to Luke after they offered the fee we require for him. Our chairman spoke to their chairman and the asking price was agreed. I didn't have too much involvement with him.
"Luke has already spoken to Orient but I don't think he is in any rush to move and I've told him that we are in particular rush to see him go anyway. He is still a Crewe player, and he is not out of it here.
"The only reason he is on the transfer-list is because he has asked to go. I'm keen for him to say if he wants too, because we could need him with a lot of games coming up.
He added: "He could well be involved against Bournemouth this weekend because I can't see anything happening today."
