Miles Was About To Join Vale

John Miles has only featured a couple of times this season and has won over the fans with his nifty foot work and his pace. However it seems the forward was on the verge of joining neighbours Port Vale at the start of this month. It was Leigh RMI's manager Steve Waywell who let slip that Miles was on his way to Vale saying that he wanted John Miles onloan but said "I asked Neil Baker at Crewe about John Miles but it looks like he might be going to Port Vale.”

The case may have been that because Miles was previously on a month to month contract that he was free to talk to any club but Dario has rushed in and secured the 20 year old for the season!
Miles had a trial with Vale(and Stoke) in pre-season but both turned away the class act and how we thank them. Miles could start against the Vale on Saturday ahead of Jones after an impressive display when he came on against Mansfield in the LDV Vans Trophy.
