Adebola

It was way back in 1996 when we last won our last game before Christmas. It was against Notts County at Gresty Road in our promotion season. Adebola on 53 minutes, Charnock on 76 minutes and Adebola again on the 83rd minute saw the Alex have a merry christmas. Interestingly that was the end a run as we had won the last 6 of the last games before christmas - if you get me.
After that pre-christmas wins were somewhat rare, infact extinct. In 1997 on 20th december Sunderland thrashed us 3-0 at Gresty Road, 1998 saw Huddersfield win 2-1 at Gresty Road on 19th December. 1 year later and it was another bad christmas with Nottm Forest knocking the stuffing out of our christmas(Get it? Stuffing? Ha.). In the year 2000 Fulham came from behind to win 2-1 at Gresty Road. Last year saw a draw with West Brom, 1-1 on 15th December. We should have played Man city on the 21st but it was called off no more than a hour before kick off due to frost.
