Former defender Chris McCready has signed for Tranmere Rovers on a one-year deal after impressing in pre-season.
24-year old McCready impressed in last weeks friendly against Vauxhall Motors and also was involved in last nights friendly against Wolves which Tranmere drew 2-2.
Chester born McCready made 67 apperances in the Championship for Crewe and had been offered a two-year contract by Dario Gradi but McCready decided to look for a fresh challange. He was linked to a few League Two clubs but after impressing Ronnie Moore he became Tranmere Rovers ninth player to sign during the close season which includes another former Crewe player Gareth Taylor.

Tranmere boss Moore said: 'Chris is a vesatile defender who has spent three seasons in the Championship so that adds experiance to our back line'

'He has been brought up the right way at Crewe and is comfortable on the ball and is another good signing for Tranmere'
