Former Crewe defender Chris McCready looks set to get a run out tonight for Tranmere Rovers. The 24-year old will feature in a game against Nationwide Conference North side Vauxhall Motors as he looks to secure a contract with the Wirral based club. McCready was offered a two-year deal by Dario Gradi and after some time McCready turned the offer down and decided to look for a new challange after being at the club from an early age.
The Chester born defender became a pro back in June 2000 but had only managed 76 appearances of which 17 came off the bench during his six years at Gresty Road. A few clubs had been linked during the close-season for the former defender Shrewsbury Town, Chester City and Blackpool had been mentioned as McCreadys next club.
