McCarthy set to be offered deal.

25-year-old McCarthy who has played non-league football for Warrington Town and more recently Kidsgrove Athletic has been at the club on trial since May has impressed in training and in the pre-season friendly games where he has scored two goals.

Two Blue Square Conference sides are have also been watching developments with regards to McCarthy with one of them being Wrexham.

If McCarthy signs he will become the clubs seventh signing of the season.
