It is believed that a bid has been submitted this afternoon from Bristol City with the clubs board accepting the offer believed to be £2.2m with a percentage sell on.
Maynard must now decide if the move would suit him or he could turn down the move and hope that a decent run and goals unto Christmas may get him that elusive move to the Premiership with Middlesbrough keeping a close eye.
The club had already turned down bids during the summer believed to be from Bristol City and Ipswich Town as the club placed a £2.5m price on the striker.
Only at the weekend the Bristol City chairman said the Maynard deal was dead after being out priced but with the failure to being in Michael Misfud and Emad Moteab it now seems that they have turned their attentions back to Maynard.
Maynard who has caught the eye of a few clubs in the last season has netted 35 times in 65 games for the Railwaymen.
