Adams told the official Brighton website 'It feels fantastic. The lads were up for the game and they put on a professional performance. If we hadn't won the game it would have been a travesty.
'The 2-1 scoreline flattered Crewe. We were disappointed when they equalised, but then you know that teams are always going to get an opportunity. They created one clear cut chance in the second half and to be fair to Calvin Zola he took it; but we kept going and they picked themselves up of the floor to go and get the winner.'
On the other hand a dejected Steve Holland felt that the Railwaymen played some decent football?
Holland told the official Crewe site 'I thought we made a half decent start to the game, and Calvin had a good chance early on. Billy Jones hit a great ball in and Calvin had the header in which he should have scored from.'
'We were playing ok in the first half, decent football without really creating a lot of chances. To be fair they were causing us some problems, had the ball in our box often and both of the centre halves were at full stretch coping with their strikers. The start of the second half, they were probably looking more likely to go 2-0 up then we were to equalise. But the players stuck in there and we have been talking about that all summer, having stuck in there like they did, they came in their in the last quarter of the game and got a great goal.'
'All we talked about to the centre halves at half time was not letting them get in behind, so to lose the game in that manner at that stage was very frustrating. To lose with what it basically a straight punt down the middle, with only the goalkeeper to beat, is hugely frustrating. I'm concerned with the second goal - that should never happen, the first one does every now and again.'
