Sorvel signed a new two contract on Wednesday but did have other interest in him. Macclesfield Town were one of those interested in him. He's still well thought of at his former club and Macclesfield manager, Dave Moss, asked him about returning:
"I had spoken to Neil Sorvel, told him about our interest and asking him what his plans were. He was keeping his options open. Crewe wanted to keep him and a couple of other First and Second Division clubs had come in for him so we were the outsiders but bearing in mind his history as a very popular player I was hoping he might be tempted. He has decided to go back to Crewe and play in the First division and I wish him well."
