The extension of the loan will now be subject to confirmation from the Football League. 28-year-old Lunt signed on loan in the middle of February initially for a month and has featured three times as the Railwaymen look to get out of the relegation zone.

Lunt who has a year left on his contract at parent club Sheffield Wednesday but maybe surplus during the summer if the Runcorn born defender can have his remaining year paid up.
