Crewe's attempt to strengthen the team by using the loan market has suffered its first set back when Michael Bridges decided to stay at Championship side Hull City.
Bridges who earlier on in the season scored against the Railwaymen in the Tigers 3-0 win in the Carling Cup had been on loan to Australian team Sydney FC and made nine appearances netting twice.
29-year-old Bridges has only made a few appearances as a sub this season still hopes to break back into the Hull City team and has impressed by netting in the reserves recently.
Crewe and Hull had agreed for a short term loan agreement with the Railwaymen paying all of Bridges wages.
Yet again it is another set back for Steve Holland and his management team, but hopefully there will be activity next week as the club could strengthen before the away trip to Leyton Orient with a few targets lined up.
