With no new players during the recent January window all attentions turn to the loan window that opens this Thursday.
Steve Holland has made it very public that he hopes to sign former striker Steve Jones on loan from Burnley but it seems that manager Owen Coyle will have the final say on any potential move.
With injuries hitting the club at the moment Holland may strengthen in the midfield and defensive areas and talk of another former player Kenny Lunt returning see very strong.
Beside loan players the Railwaymen will be allowed to sign players who have recently had there contracts paid up with the likes of John Hartson, Bruce Dyer and Michael Ricketts.
Holland told the official site; 'We are looking to bring in at least two or three new players on loan and we will be looking to do that sooner rather than later. We know we have to reinforce the team.
'We have kept in touch with Steve Jones and have been very persistent there. We have continued to pester Burnley about him and hopefully something can be sorted this week.'
