Today, Crewe Alexandra officially announced that they will be playing Liverpool in a pre-season friendly. The match is scheduled for Saturday 22 July with a kick off being 3pm and as of yet ticket prices are yet to be confirmed. The last time Liverpool visited Gresty Road was for the Shaun Smith and Steve Macauley's testimonial match back in 2003 the result that day was a 1-1 draw with goals coming from David Vaughan and Michael Owen. Hopefully, Liverpool will have a strong squad but then it all depends on how England and the other countries that are taking part in the World Cup fair. So the likes of Gerrard, Crouch and Carragher could all miss along with Kewell, Alonso, Luis Garcia, Reina.
