The Champions League runners-up have so far spent £40m on new players after the club was taken over last season, although the new signings will be missing some big names look set to feature.
One summer recruit Andriy Voronin who arrived on a free from Bayern Levarkausen looks set to start but big money signings Fernando Torres (£20m), Yossi Benayoun (£5m) and Ryal Babel (11.5m) will not play any part. Torres has only linked up with his new teammates on Wednesday after coming back from holiday, while Benayoun and Babel have only just signed and both are awaiting work permits after they signed from West Ham and Ajax respectively.

Crewe's 21-man squad has arrived back from their pre-season training camp in the Algarve and the club have a few doubts on some players. Defiantly out are Ben Rix, Michael O'Connor and Eugen Bopp with shin splints, hernia and lack of fitness respectively.
Crewe's management team are sweating over Danny Woodards (thigh), Ryan Lowe (tight groin) and David Vaughan (tight groin). While the club look set to give debuts to Billy Jones, Steven Shumacher, Colin Daniel and Chris McCready.
Daniel O'Donnell look set to come up against his former team after he signed for the Railwaymen for £100k after impressing the club during his seasons long loan.
Trialist defender Greg Stones also looks set to feature as he tries to impress Steve Holland Dario Gradi as he looks for a permanent contract at the club.

Liverpool will give some of their big guns a run out after a few of them missed the 3-2 win at Wrexham last weekend. Back into the team are Steve Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso and Andriy Voronin, while some promising youngsters will feature with Jack Hobbs, Craig Lidfield, Paul Anderson and hat-trick hero from last week Besian Idrizaj.
