Crewe have been drawn away to Lincoln in the first round of this season's League Cup. The draw, which took place at around 7am, will see Crewe travel to Sincil Bank on the week commencing 22nd August. The tie will see Lincoln Manager Keith Alexander go up against Crewe Alexandra as he continues his comeback from illness. The Red Imps have been losing play-off finalists three years in a row and will be hoping to buck that trend this season although the loss of top scorer Simon Yeo is a blow. The game will also allow Dario Gradi to have a closer look at 6'7 defender Ben Futcher who the club have been linked with on numerous occasions. Another player on show will be Lee Beevers who the Alex looked at during his time at Boston.
Today's draw also sees Stoke travel to Mansfield, Port Vale travel to Rotherham and Macclesfield travel to Notts Forest. Chester have also been handed a great tie as they travel to Molineux to play Glenn Hoddle's Wolves.
