Liam Lawrence Rejects Crewe

It was the worst kept secret that Crewe had offered terms to bosman midfielder Liam Lawrence, who scored 22 goals for Mansfield last season. The 23 year old was being pursued by Sunderland and Cardiff, so the chances of getting him were slim - and today he turned down a Crewe offer and is expected to sign for Sunderland this week.

Lawrence dampens Crewe's June a bit, after we've seemingly lost out on him and Mellor with Brammer and Wright looking likely to move on to rival Championship teams.
