Liam, cap in hand, at the Alexandra Stadium?

Lawrence has been the subject of transfer speculation for 12 months and with his contract up it's gathering pace everyday. Last week the Mansfield midfielder turned down a offer from Crewe saying he had another other which was bigger and better but, whilst holidaying in Portugal with Alex striker Andy White, it seems that Lawrence may not have any offers at all.

Leeds United have already told the 22-year-old they have withdrawn their contract offer because of a knee-injury he has picked up and the club leading the pack for his name Sunderland are now also thinking about pulling their contract offer because of his knee, which he's recently had key-hole surgery on.

Could we see Liam Lawrence return to Dario and ask for a second offering? Or are we just being hopeful?
