Latics aren't the Wright team

The Independent and Manchester Evening News both claim that Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell is to swoop for David Wright in the coming month, with a fee of £300,000 being mentioned. Jewell apparantly wants Wright to replace big centre back who left for Ipswich last week.

Wright had a trial at Leeds last August was there was strong speculation that he was off to Charlton or Fulham but nothing ever arose.

Wright though has publicly stated he wants Premiership football and with Premiership scouts watching him all of last season I think he'll hold out for a Premiership team, rather than wannabe's Wigan Athletic. Aswell as that he's hardly in the stature of 6ft 2in Jason De Vos - is he?

And £300,000? Someone taking the piss?
