Benitez looks set to rest the big guns for the 3rd Round Carling Cup tie against Crewe as the Anfield boss has one eye on the Merseyside derby this Saturday.
Benitez looks set to hand a debut to Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri who arrived at Anfield from Palmerias.
Danish defender Daniel Agger looks set to start as well in the centre of defence; Agger signed from Brøndby in 2006 in a £5.8m fee but has been dogged by injury at his time at Liverpool.
Former Lyon midfielder Damien Plessis also looks set to start having already featured in Liverpool's games against Standard Liege.
Benitez will also look to play Daniel Pacheco who was signed from Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2007 the 18-year-old signed for Liverpool while still on 17 as players in Spain cannot sign a professional contract until the age of 18.
Moroccan international Nabil El Zhar also looks set to start in attack and the former St Etienne forward has already featured this season for Liverpool while Brazilian international Lucas Leiva will play as he looks to but up match fitness due to the player missing pre-season due to the Olympics.
