The loan move to Bury will see him get regular football and will mean Crewe can keep tabs on his performances and make a decision on his long term furture as he is out of contract in the summer.
Shakers manager Chris Casper told the Bury official site "I first saw Darren when he was at Preston as a Youth Team player and I thought very highly of him there, and with all respect to Morecambe, I'm surprised he never played at a higher level, but he obviously impressed with his displays and got himself a first division club at Crewe. He is ambitious and he is desperate to show Crewe what they are missing."
Kempson looks set to make his debut at home to Peterborough United and will remain at Gigg Lane until 24 March.
