Adie Moses, Neil Sorvel, Clayton Ince and Colin Murdock will tomorrow reveal whether or not they will be with the club next season. Clayton Ince is the only player to have been offered a two-year deal whilst the other three have been offered one-year deals. Chis McCready is the only player to have been offered a contract to have accepted so far after accepting another one-year deal.
Clayton Ince has been subject of interest from Coventry, as revealed in earlier articles on Crewe Mad, and should Coventry make an official offer to the 'keeper, it is likely that he would choose Coventry for financial reasons. Ince is giving very little away surrounding his current situation and many fans feel Ince's decision could have a bearing on the outcome of next season. Should Ince decline Crewe's two-year offer, his ability to come for crosses and his sheer presence would be sorely missed.
Colin Murdock has already rejected his one-year offer citing his need for a longer contract and more money as the reason for declining the clubs offer. However, with no other clubs chasing the Northern Ireland International's signature, the defender could yet do a U-turn and accept his contract, although the stubborn side of his character may prevent such a reversal.
Adie Moses and Neil Sorvel are both expected to sign their deals after no other interest materialised. Both players have indicated that they would be happy to sign but did announce that should they receive a longer contract from elsewhere, they would be forced to accept it. Sorvel was subject of interest from two Championship teams, one believed to be Sheffield Wednesday, although this interest never produced an offer.
Kenny Lunt's future must also be resolved as no offers have been forthcoming for the much maligned midfielder. After some dreadful form for much of last season, many fans had hoped that the midfielder would have been sold but despite enquiries from Leeds and Burnley, no offers were made and it appears that he will captain the club for at least one more season. However, this period may be extended if Lunt agrees to Dario's request to sign yet another new-contract.
Steve Foster's future was also expected to be called into doubt this summer as he seeked a payday but after an injury late last season, the defender will lead the line once again.
Crewe fans face a tense 24 hours as we await the decisions and everyone will be hoping that the right decisions are made.
