It is understood that League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge have expressed an interest to sign Crewe's ex-captain Billy Jones.
Jones has featured since the 2-1 defeat at home to Port Vale back in mid October prior to that Jones saw red in the game against Bury for a professional foul.
Jones was an unused sub at Macclesfield Town where the Railwaymen lost 4-1.
26-year-old Jones was signed from Exeter City back in May 2007 for a fee in the region of £65k and has made 71 league apperances for the Railwaymen. Although the Gillingham born defender has quashed rumours about wanting to move back down south with his young family this offer may be suite both parties.
Jones who was installed as club captain at the begining of the season by previuos manager Gudjon Thordarson has struggled with injury in recent weeks and has only returned to training only to pick up a knock again and has found it hard to regain his place as left back due to the emergence of Ashley Westwood, Matt Tootle and now Carl Martin.
Jones signed a three year deal back in 2007 and his contract will expire next summer.
