19-year-old defender/midfielder Billy Jones looks set to leave Crewe after rejecting an improved contract.
It seems that the club will discuss the future if the player at the next board meeting after he turned down a very good contract.

In recent weeks the scouts have flocked and one team in particular have been strongly linked. Stuart Pearce's Manchester City have watched over the Shrewsbury born mifielder/defender with Pearce himself taking in a game recently.

The player joined the Railwaymen at an early age after being recommended by former player Dave Walton. Jones has worked his way through the Academy sides and has captained England at all levels up to U19's and also captained U-20's recently.

Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "It could be in the best interests of the club to sell him, but he may change his mind.
"If he does agree a new deal and we get an offer we think is good for him we would still be prepared to let him go."

If Jones allows his contract to expire this summer then any buying club would have to pay sufficient compensation because he is under the age of 23. Any transfer fee would then be set by tribunal.
