Steve Jones started ahead of regular Paul McVeigh. He started on the left of a 5 man midfield before moving to the right or up front during the match. His best moment of the match came with a run down the right but before his could cross it he was chopped down from behind.
In the second half the Derry born lad helped N.Ireland make the best chance of the match with a one-two with Preston midfielder David Healy. Healy broke down the middle and with 3 on 3 Healy squared it to Jones on the edge of the box, Jones took two neat touch's before giving it back to Healy as he entred the box. Healy was one on one with the keeper but managed to smash it straight at him.
Jonah was taken off for Norwich winger, Paul McVeigh, on the 77th minute.
Spain rarely made a decent chance but every other chance they did have it was Fulham keeper, Maik Taylor who turned out a man of the match performance.
However Northern Ireland continue to rue missed chances as it's now exactly 973 minutes since they last scored a goal.
