Steve Jones played 45 minutes in Northern Ireland against Serbia. The Derry born striker was left on the bench for the first half, which saw the only two goals of the match, when Paunovic put the Serbians ahead after 7 minutes but a James Quinn goal 10 minutes later saw it end 1-1. Jonah, put on in place of Keith Gillespie, earned his eighth Northern Ireland cap since joining Crewe in summer 2001.

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Wilson, meanwhile, was left on the bench as the English kicked off their Euro U-19 2004 tournament. The score ended badly, with Slovenia 2-1 England.
