As part of Northern Ireland's tour in the Carribean they played Trinidad & Tobago and came out worthy winners. After 15 games with a goal and win Lawrie Sanchez has taken them to 3 games unbeaten and with two wins under their belt.
Last night saw Steve Jones having to sit on the bench, despite scoring against St Nevis earlier in the week. Jones played the last 45 minutes for Ireland and his team put the 7th goal past Trinidad inside a week, after losing 4-1 to Scotland last week. David Healy became Northern Ireland's record scorer with 14 goals after sticking two past Incey whilst Hull's Stuart Elliot made it 3-0.
The Jones vs Ince battle will be nothing compared to what he'll face over the next 16 months. Jones has to impress as Northern Ireland enter the World Cup 2006 qualifiers in the same group as England and Wales. He could be hammering down the left wing against David Vaughan, playing at left back for Wales, and who knows? Ashton and Billy in the England squad? Well, maybe not but it'll be a great occassion if Jones and Vaughan can get caps against England - and even better, play against each other.
Who'd win that battle?
