Steve Jones broke the Crewe record for the most amount of goals scored in this division by a single player. The previous record was Rob Hulses 13 but Jonah planted his 14th of the season into the back of the net against Wimbledon in the 1-0 win.

The former Leigh RMI winger admitted he's as surprised as anyone that he has notched up so many goals:

"If you'd have said at the start of the season I'd be on 14 already I'd have never believed you but it's going really well at the moment and I'm pushing towards that 20-mark now."

The Northern Ireland international will have done his chance's of facing England & Wales in the up coming World Cup 2006 qualifying round no harm at all. For now he's taking one game as it comes, with a trip to Ipswich on Saturday:

"Ipswich have a great stadium with a big atmosphere so hopefully we'll be able to rise to that and put in a good performance.

"We've got 10 to 12 players on the treatment table at the moment and the young lads who have come in have been absolutely superb. If we can keep it going, you never know where we might finish, do you?"
