THIRD division champions Rushden & Diamonds could add to their Caribbean connection this summer.
Jamaican duo Paul Hall and Onandi Lowe scored 16 goals each to finish joint-top scorers as Diamonds won their fourth title in ten years.
And boss Brian Talbot is now believed to be lining up a move for St Vincent inter-national striker Rodney Jack who will listen to offers before he decides whether to stay at Crewe Alexandra.
Jack, 31 in September, is stalling on a one-year extension at Gresty Road which would mean a 40 per cent cut in wages despite the club's immediate return to Division One.
The pacy front-runner – who scored 16 goals in 45 games this season – joined Crewe from Torquay United for £650,000 five years ago. But he would become a free agent at the end of next month.
Jack admitted: "I would be happy to stay. But if we can't agree terms then I will have to consider other options."
He has also been linked with Stoke City – although Talbot knows all about Jack's ability as Diamonds look to strengthen their squad for the debut season in Division Two.
Jack impressed during the Worthington Cup second-round tie in September 2001 when Diamonds lost to Crewe after extra-time.
And he scored both goals in last July's pre-season friendly at Newcastle Town while Dario Gradi's club have also been regular visitors to Nene Park for reserve-team games.
This adds to rumours which have been going round for months and Jack could well be a Rushden player by Friday as it's obvious rodders just isn't staying with the Alex.
