Rodney Jack will take a place in the Crewe squad for the first time this season as the Railwaymen travel to Yorkshire to take on Huddersfield Town this weekend.
Provided Jack comes through training with no further reaction to his calf injury, he is in line to take a place on the subs bench on Saturday. Jack is yet to appear this season and it is hoped that his return from injury will aid our goalscoring troubles of the oppening three games. Jack was suggested by many at the begining of the season as the player to take the division by storm and finally justify his price tag, after his move from Torquay, which seems an eternity ago.
Dario will be hoping that Jack comes through training and is fully fit and able to offer the manager that extra attacking dimension. Jack's pace is well known, but his consitency and injury prone tag have overshadowed the early promise he showed when he first arrived at the club.
This season will be his make or break year in my opinion, he has one year left to run on his current deal and should he find form and remain injury free he will see it as a chance to put himself in the 'shop window' or give Dario no alternative other than to offer him a new deal. Rodders is getting no younger and this season may be his last to finally show his worth or his days at the club may be numbered.
